About the Project
Woodside is an atmospheric, supernatural horror game developed in Unreal Engine 5. The game combines exploration, environmental storytelling, and dynamic spirit encounters to deliver a tense, immersive experience set in rural England.
Role
We are seeking an experienced Unreal Engine Developer to join our small, collaborative team. You will implement gameplay systems, UI and enemy behaviours that are modular and designer-friendly, helping the design vision come to life.
Responsibilities
- Build gameplay systems, mechanics, and enemy behaviours that are intuitive for designers to use and modify.
- Collaborate closely with Design, Art and Audio to ensure smooth integration of gameplay, visuals, audio, and narrative.
- Optimize systems for performance and maintainability in Unreal Engine 5.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and refine systems based on iterative testing.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints and C++.
- Proven ability to create modular, designer-friendly systems that are readable and easily customised.
- Experience building gameplay systems, enemy behaviour, and UI implementation.
- Familiarity with performance optimization, debugging, and UE5 best practices.
- Comfortable working remotely and collaboratively in a small team.
(Experience with horror or narrative-driven games is a plus!)
